About Us

About FAP: The Freedom Again Project (FAP) is a think-and-do tank founded by entrepreneur multi-descipline artist Malik Mahlangu a.k.a. Mista Maliq out of a need to free ourselves as South Africans from the more destructive trappings of our newly found political (and economic- where it applies) freedoms through active social involvement. A field that we have particular interest in is that of art and using it as a catalyst to this lofty cause. To this end we employ means that will bring back meaning and purpose into our cultural discourse through proactive, positive contributions in music, fashion, visual arts, theatre, film, literature. FAP counts among its diverse influences the 18th and 19th century giants of German and European arts and philosophy (Geothe, Wagner, Nietzsche), Leopald Sengour's so-called Negritude movement, the Harlem Renaissance, and finally the Black Consciousness Movement- which was originally intended to be a cultural movement rather than a political one by its founder Steve Bantu Biko.
